School level

- To support the importance of alternative mode of assessment
E.g. financial, time-tabling (more time), resources (laptop, relevant courses for teachers and students).

- Create an educational culture, based on a partnership of school, students, parents and community that insists upon multiple measures of what students know and are able to do before making placement decisions about students (Alaska Education).

- Establish clear framework and guidelines for A.A e.g. Portfolio assessment.

- Clear about organizational details and procedures, procedures when students fail.

- Grading practices and how to deal with reliability and validity issues -how to develop an interpretive community for assessing portfolios.
